In speaking to the prophet Jeremiah, God reminds him “before you were born, I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations, I appointed you.” What we are to proclaim is best described by St. Paul in the second reading when he speaks of what love needs to look like in our lives. Being patient, kind, not jealous, not rude, not quick tempered, hopeful, truthful – this is a tall order for each of us and yet there is no doubt that this is our task as disciples of Christ. As difficult as it may be to love in this manner, trust God’s grace at work in you.
