The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides emergency support to families in crisis. Join us for a one-mile walk up and down Main Street in Stoneham to support their efforst. The cost to register is $10 and all proceeds go directly to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Saint Patrick Parish, who provide food and other emergency assistance to local residents. We will begin our walk with a gathering in Our Lady of Providence Hall. Dress in blue and white and be sure to wear your walking shoes! 25 Mother-Daughter Tea
Sunday, September 25th, St. Patrick Parish at 2:00 pm, Parish Council Room Calling all girls between nine and fourteen years old and their mother or grandmother. This event will introduce girls to the onset of young womanhood through God's love. The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning in order to discuss the important topic of growing up and to establish a foundation for continued communication between mother and daughter. Refreshments will be served. Cost is $25.00 for the first Mother/daughter, $15.00 for each additional daughter. Registration is required. The goal of SAAV is to raise awareness about teen dating violence, sexual and domestic violence, and to promote programs that foster healthy relations. ABOUT THE CONCERT ACROSS AMERICA September 25th is the date designated by congress in 2007 as a day of remembrance for murder victims. The nationwide concerts will bring together organizations, activists and artists with the dual goals of keeping guns out of dangerous hands and making the issue of illegal guns top of mind for members of Congress, the presidential candidates, and the American people as they go to the polls in November 2016. Annual Lawn Party to benefit Seminarians Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston is hosting its 35th Annual Lawn Party on Wednesday, September 28th, at 6:00 pm on the grounds of the seminary. This premiere fundraising event is hosted this year by Bishop Robert Reed. The evening will include a reception and dinner with music. Located on Route 30 in Weston, the seminary prepares second career candidates, men over the age of 30, for priesthood. The proceeds from the Lawn Party help to keep tuition costs affordable. The Archdiocese of Boston is starting up a new formation class for deacons. If you are interested in discerning whether you might be called to become a permanent deacon, you and your wife (for those who are married) are invited to an information session Wednesday September 21, 2016 6:30-8:00 pm at St. Maria Goretti Parish, 112 Chestnut Street, Lynnfield. Please email the Permanent Diaconate Office at deacon_vocations@rcab.org to sign up or to receive more information. The Diaconate Formation Program is four years in length and is open to single and married men who will be between the ages of 35-65 at the time of ordination.

Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or do you know someone who the Spirit is calling to Catholicism, or someone who would like to receive the Sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation? During the summer months, we welcome adults who are interested in learning more about Catholicism to join us for informal conversations about Catholic faith and traditions in preparation for the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program beginning this fall. We will meet the last Thursday of the month during June, July, August, and September, from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Youth/Multi-purpose Room.
