Today’s readings highlight the importance of the virtue of humility. In the first reading we hear, “conduct your affairs with humility and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts.” In the Gospel parable, we hear Jesus say, “everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Humility is a rare quality in today’s world. The humble person recognizes that all we have and all we are is a gift from God. This week, take some time to thank and praise God for all that has been given to you so that you may grow in humility.
