About the Sisters of Providence
The Sisters of Providence, a Congregation of nearly 240 women religious, with more than 280 Providence Associates, collaborate with others to create a more just and hope-filled world through prayer, education, service and advocacy. The Sisters of Providence have their motherhouse at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, located just northwest of downtown Terre Haute, Ind., which is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Saint Mother Theodore Guerin founded the Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in 1840. Every Tuesday a delicious and nutritious meal is served to the guests at the Community Dinner. The dinner is for our neighbors and friends who would benefit from a good meal and friendly conversation.
The meals are sponsored by local churches and businesses, so there is no charge. Saint Patrick Parish’s Food Group ministry sponsors the third Tuesday of each month.
If you or someone you know would benefit from this dinner, please join us. The dinner is served at 5:45 pm. If the Stoneham Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather, the dinners are cancelled for the evening.
