Grieving is a challenging and painful experience on its own. Grieving during this time of pandemic can be complicated by the isolation and loneliness of social distancing. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, whether due to COVID-19 or another cause, you are not alone. Connecting with others who share a similar experience of mourning during the isolation and uncertainty of this time can be comforting.
Please join our Grief Support Group to connect with others virtually on Wednesday evenings, September 9, 16, 23, 30 – October 7 & 14. Together, we will explore the grieving process and consider the spiritual elements of grief and healing grounded in Christian hope. For more information, please call Patrice Fitzpatrick, Pastoral Associate, at 781-438-0200 or email pfitzpatrick@stpatrickstoneham.org to register by Wednesday, September 2.
You will need a computer, tablet, or a smart phone that has a camera in order to participate in these virtual meetings. This technology is easy to use and we can assist you in getting started. If you are not comfortable using this technology, our Virtual Grief Drop-In Meetings on the second Monday of each month offer phone-in attendance. Please call Patrice for more information. On Saturday, October 10 at 12:00 a group of locals will gather at the front entrance of Medford City Hall to celebrate the Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima. This Catholic Feast Day will be celebrated throughout the U.S. at over 17,200 locations as well as in many other countries around the world.
The celebration will be held in a public area where participants will recite the Catholic prayer, the rosary, for peace for all in our country. The public is invited to participate in this yearly celebration, which has been held since 2007. At this gathering, prayers will also be made for the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. Every Tuesday a delicious and nutritious meal is served to the guests at the Community Dinner. The dinner is for our neighbors and friends who would benefit from a good meal and friendly conversation.
The meals are sponsored by local churches and businesses, so there is no charge. Saint Patrick Parish’s Food Group ministry sponsors the third Tuesday of each month.
If you or someone you know would benefit from this dinner, please join us. The dinner is served at 5:45 pm. If the Stoneham Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather, the dinners are cancelled for the evening.ACHS Virtual Open House
