  • Mass of Remembrance

    Wednesday Nov 2, 2022 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

    Mass of Remembrance

    Mass of Remembrance
Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 PM

The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that “from the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God” (CCC, 1032). One way we carry on this rich tradition of praying for the dead is with the celebration of the Mass of Remembrance each November 2, on the Feast of All Souls.

Please join us on Wednesday, November 2 for the Mass of Remembrance to pray for the repose of the souls of all who have died over the past year and whose birth-to-new-life was celebrated at Saint Patrick Parish. On this commemoration of the Feast of All Souls, when the Church remembers all the faithful departed, we of Saint Patrick Parish will remember our own beloved dead. As we pray together, we will announce the names of those who were buried from this parish over the past year, and pray for all whose names are inscribed in the Book of Remembrance.

Refreshments to follow in Our Lady of Providence Hall following the Mass. All are welcome!

  • Colleen Willard

    Wednesday Nov 16, 2022 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Please Note: The date has been changed to Wednesday, November 16th.

    Colleen Willard

Colleen Willard shares her miraculous healing in Medjugorje

Colleen Willard’s story began in 2001, when she experienced excruciating back pain. Later, she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, had multiple health problems, became wheelchair bound, and was in constant, severe pain. After receiving a devasting second opinion from a team of doctors at the Mayo Clinic she began preparing for her funeral. But Our Lady had other plans. Colleen learned about pilgrimages to Medjugorje, and despite many obstacles she, along with her husband John, embarked on a pilgrimage to this holy site that has documented countless stories of healings and conversions.

Colleen was not there to seek healing, but to pray for those she would leave behind. You will be captivated to hear the movements of the Holy Spirit and Our Blessed Mother’s intercession, where during Mass, Our Lord would heal Colleen.

Since her confirmed healing, she and her husband have shared their story across the world and have been a guest on multiple radio programs, including Relevant Radio and Shalom World TV.

Medjugorje, located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a pilgrimage site where in 1981, the Virgin Mary appeared to six children. Our Blessed Mother continues to appear to the visionaries to this day.

Colleen will share her remarkable story on Wednesday, November 16, at 6:30 PM, at St. Florence Parish, the Center for Healing. St. Florence Parish is located at 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield, MA. For more information visit www.stflorenceparish.org. There you can find more information about Medjugorje.

  • Finding Your Place in the Advent Story

    Monday Nov 28, 2022 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Finding Your Place in the Advent StoryAdvent is a special season for the Church — it is the time when the world prepares to celebrate anew the coming of Christ. Often, we lose sight of the point of this season because we get caught up in our preparations for Christmas and arrive at Christmas no more transformed than we were at the start of Advent.

A way that our parish is seeking to prepare for Jesus’ birth and experience true transformation in this powerful season is by engaging with a program from Ascension. This program is Rejoice! Finding Your Place in the Advent Story. We will explore the places, meet the people, and experience the events that shaped the first Advent, and find our place in the story. By immersing ourselves in the environment that God’s people were living in as they prepared for the Messiah, we will experience this sacred season in a new way.

We will meet in person from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on the four Mondays of Advent - November 28, and December 5, 12 and 19. There is a journal that goes along with the program for a cost of $10.

Please contact Diane McCarthy, Pastoral Associate if you would like to join in this special time of preparation for the birth of Christ at Christmas. Diane can be reached at 781-438-0200 or dianemccarthy@stpatrickstoneham.org.
