  • Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning

    Wednesday Sep 18, 2019 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

The SANCTITY OF LIFE MINISTRY of the Reading Catholic Community will host a Palliative Care presentation this month by Diane McCarthy, Parish Education Coordinator for the Archdiocesan Initiative for Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning.

Palliative care is often misunderstood. It is sometimes thought to be exclusively for people who are receiving hospice care at the end of their lives, but palliative care is actually a comprehensive approach to care for those with serious illness from the moment of their diagnosis. It is a way for people to live better with serious illness that is entirely consistent with Catholic teaching, continuing the holistic healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Please join a discussion and presentation by the Archdiocese of Boston’s Initiative for Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning at the Saint Athanasius Parish Activity Center on Wednesday September 18th at 7:00-8:30 PM, with RSVP to Ken Charest at kscee@comcast.net or 781-572-5535 for refreshment planning purposes.
