We hear in today’s gospel that Jesus returned to his home town but he did not receive a warm reception. In fact, people questioned his authority and were unwilling to believe his teaching. St. Paul also refers to the trials and hardships he encountered in his preaching. Despite the rejection they experienced, neither St. Paul nor Jesus backed away from their mission. Pray for the grace to persevere in the work of being a disciple.
