Wednesday Nov 2, 2016

  • Mass of Remembrance

    Wednesday Nov 2, 2016 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

    Mass of Remembrance
Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 PM

November is a month dedicated to praying for the deceased. The catechism tells us that "from the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God" (1032). We carry on the long tradition of praying for the dead with the celebration of the Mass being the highest form of prayer we can offer for our loved ones.

Please join us for a special Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday evening, November 2nd, at 7:00pm. On this, the Feast of All Souls, when the Church commemorates all the faithful departed, we of Saint Patrick Parish will remember our own beloved dead. As we gather and pray, we will announce the names of those who were buried from this parish over the past year, and we will pray for all those whose names are listed in the Book of Remembrance.

All are welcome to join us for this special commemoration followed by light refreshments in Our Lady of Providence Hall.

    Book of Remembrance

Please stop by the table to the left of the altar (near the ambo) in the Upper Church over the next two weeks and inscribe the names of departed loved ones whom you would like to be remembered in prayer. This book will be presented and prayed over at the Mass of Remembrance on All Souls' Day, so that all those who are listed will be lifted in prayer.
