1 | 2 Mass of Remembrance
Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 PM November is a month dedicated to praying for the deceased. The catechism tells us that "from the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God" (1032). We carry on the long tradition of praying for the dead with the celebration of the Mass being the highest form of prayer we can offer for our loved ones. Please join us for a special Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday evening, November 2nd, at 7:00pm. On this, the Feast of All Souls, when the Church commemorates all the faithful departed, we of Saint Patrick Parish will remember our own beloved dead. As we gather and pray, we will announce the names of those who were buried from this parish over the past year, and we will pray for all those whose names are listed in the Book of Remembrance. All are welcome to join us for this special commemoration followed by light refreshments in Our Lady of Providence Hall. Book of Remembrance Please stop by the table to the left of the altar (near the ambo) in the Upper Church over the next two weeks and inscribe the names of departed loved ones whom you would like to be remembered in prayer. This book will be presented and prayed over at the Mass of Remembrance on All Souls' Day, so that all those who are listed will be lifted in prayer. Deceased Members Mass and Healing Service with Fr. Unfortunately, hundreds of people will be spending this holiday in the hospital away from family and in need of medical treatment or surgery. Come and participate in conversation with others who serve the parish in various liturgical ministries as we prepare ourselves for the Season of Advent. If your loss is recent, we suggest that you wait at least six months before participating in this 6-week workshop, which will be offered again next spring. As part of these peer support group meetings, we will explore the grieving process and we will consider the spiritual elements of grief and healing. Participants will have the opportunint to share their experiences with other grieving people who can offer understanding, acceptance, and support. Father Albert MacPherson, OSA of the Augustinian Healing Ministry will conduct a Parish Mission. The Mission begins on Sunday, November 13th with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 3:00pm - 7:00pm.
Monday night will be the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with Confessions following the Mass. Tuesday continues with Holy Mass and Healing Service. Wednesday the mission concludes with Holy Mass, Healing Service and a light reception in the parish hall. All are welcome!6-Week Grief Support Group

6-Week Grief Support Group
at Saint Patrick Parish

If you have suffered the death of a loved one and feel you would benefit from prayerful reflection and conversation in a supportive Christian environment, please join our Grief Support Group which will meet here at Saint Patrick Parish for six Wednesday evenings beginning October 5 through November 16 (excluding Nov. 2) from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. If your loss is recent, we suggest that you wait at least six months before participating in this 6-week workshop, which will be offered again next spring.
As part of these peer support group meetings, we will explore the grieving process and we will consider the spiritual elements of grief and healing. Participants will have the opportunint to share their experiences with other grieving people who can offer understanding, acceptance, and support.
