Mystic Valley Elder Services in Malden seeks volunteers
MVES recently launched the Technology Access Program or “TAP” to teach technology functions and skills to older adults to help them feel more comfortable using digital devices so that they can stay connected and engaged. Participants will learn how to use digital devices and connect to the internet so that they can engage with friends, family and healthcare providers; listen to music; watch TV and movies; shop; make video calls; and much more!
This program is in high demand, and we need “TAP Trainer” volunteers now! We are seeking volunteers who are age 18 and older, tech savvy, and comfortable working elders and adults with disabilities.
We also have other volunteer positions available, which include Medicare counseling (SHINE), budgeting, bill paying assistance (Money Management); instruction on preventing falls and managing chronic conditions (Healthy Aging); companionship through in-person visits, phone calls, email messages, and cards and letters (Social Engagement); office/administrative projects; serving meals to seniors at congregate dining sites; and more!
