We know this story so well it is a good example of perseverance. The Magi were determined to follow the star- “overjoyed at seeing the star. . . and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother... and did him homage.” Our culture urges us to follow a lot of “stars” these days: sports stars, rock stars, movie stars, stars famous for any number of reasons. But the question is, do they lead us to Christ? Maybe it’s time to take a lesson from the Magi and look for Christ. These other “stars” will come and go but Jesus Christ will never leave us!
